Same Old, Same Old...
Well, we took Lily into the doctors this morning. We were worried it was her ears because she's been crying when we take her temperature (we have an ear thermometer). Turns out her ears are fine though. It's her throat again! Our doctor thinks it's just another virus that's causing a sore throat and fever. Same treatment as 2 weeks ago, alternate between Tylenol and Mortin every 3 hours. I hope this doesn't last as long as last time did. Her last sickness she had about 4 days of high fever, then a low grade fever and low energy for a few more days. I only started feeling confident that she was better at the beginning of this week.
I don't know what we're going to do about this weekend. She hasn't been to Little Gym in 3 weeks now, and we'll most likely have to cancel tomorrow's class too. Then we have tickets to our first Pawsox game of the season tomorrow, and our nephew's first birthday party on Sunday. I guess we'll have to play everything by ear. Think healthy thoughts for Lily! We're all so ready for her to be feeling better soon!

Again?!
And so the sickness drama continues! Lily woke up this morning with a low grade fever. She spent most of the morning cuddled up in my arms, and has just now woken up from her nap with a 103.7 fever! I'm starting to lose hope that we will have another sick free week this year! It's so weird, last winter she was so healthy, and now this is the 3rd sickness in a little over a month! She doesn't get a chance to fully recover before coming down with something again. I think it's a combination of interacting with more kids this year, and that I'm no longer nursing her. She's not getting all those nice antibodies from me this year, and the mats at little gym can be a germ factory! Plus the library, and the play ground...she's just being exposed to so many more germs this year! I just feel so bad for her...you can tell she feeling crappy from all the snuggle time. While she can be a snuggle bunny at times, she's usually a very active kid. But in this past month I think we've spent more days cuddled up on the couch watching Sesame Street than not! Thank God for those few days earlier this week where we were able to get outside and play! Though who knows, maybe she picked up something from the play ground?
Keep thinking healthy thoughts for us please! We'll be cuddling on the couch for the rest of the day! If she's still sick tomorrow I'll be calling the doctor to get her ears checked out. I keep having this fear with every sickness that I'm missing an ear infection. She hasn't had one yet, but what kid goes through their first 2 years without a single ear infection?!?!

Easter 2009
We had a great Easter yesterday! Granny and Papa came down to spend the day with us, which always makes Lily happy! She had so much fun looking through the Easter baskets Granny and Papa brought, and the one the Easter bunny left for her! She got new shoes, bubbles, and a cow puppet from Granny and Papa; and an Easter My Little Pony, bubbles, side walk chalk and Elmo Live from the Easter Bunny!
Going through the basket Granny and Papa brought:
Shoes!
Elmo!
After brunch, we went outside to find the Easter Bunny had left eggs all over our yard!! Lily had such a fun time collecting them all in her basket!
After a while Lily gave up on the basket and and dropped it in favor of bringing the eggs TO the basket!
She would whisper "whoa" with every new egg we opened!
After opening all the eggs, and a little elmo play time, we bundled up for a nice long Easter walk!
Playing with Elmo:
It was a fun day, and a nice visit!
As for her illness, we're crossing our fingers that she's all better! She still has a cough, and runny nose, and will still get really fussy if she's over tired or things aren't going her way. But her fever has been down for a few days now...thank goodness! We're going to continue to take it easy this week, and hope the germs stay away from our house for the rest of the year!

At The Park With My Friend
Two picture posts in one day! Crazy I know!
A couple weeks ago we went down to Philadelphia for a couple days with our friends Becky, Jon and Kyan. We stayed with Becky's family, who were so kind to open their home to us! The kids had such a great time getting to play with each other for 3 days in a row! Becky showed us around all her favorite places from growing up, and fed us some incredible local cuisine! One of the places she took us was the play ground that she use to go to as a kid. Our kids had such a blast running around together!

Ditto with Kyan:
This was funny; in part of the park there is a miniature town called "safety town", where kids can ride their bikes safely. We let the kids run around this little "town", and Kyan thought it was SO fun inching along the "sidewalk" with his back against the buildings! He just kept going around and around the perimeter of this one building, laughing the whole time!

19 Months
Dear Lily,
It's so hard to believe another month has gone by! You are learning things so fast now, it's hard to keep up!! It's amazing to me how fast you pick up new words now!
Last month was all about your words though....this month was all about music! You really fell in love with singing and finger play games this month! You've started requesting songs all the time now. You love when I sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"(you request this by doing the first movement and saying "itsy itsy"), "If You're Happy and You Know It" (you request this by clapping your hands and saying "happy happy"), "This Little Piggy" (requested by playing with toes and saying "piggy, piggy"), "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes" (requested by putting hands on head and saying "head", then moving down to toes, and saying "toes"), and "Patty Cake" (requested by clapping hands and saying "Patty, Patty"). You also loves the Hot Dog song from play house Disney. You do this funny swinging arm dance when I sing it for you! And of course, your all time favorite, the theme song to Elmo's world! You tries to sing along with it, "Do do do do, do do do do, Elmo's world!" It' so great seeing you really starting to enjoy music and singing! I hope this continues for the rest of your life!
Singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider":
Speaking of Elmo's World, this month you went to your first theater production...Sesame Street Live! That had to have been my favorite day with you from this last month! You were so excited to see Elmo and Abby, and all your other favorite Sesame Street characters! I'll never forget the look on your face when the show started, or the excitement in your voice when you yelled "Abby!!" when she first came on stage! I hope this is the beginning of a life long love of the theater! I can't wait till the first time I take you to a real show on Broadway!
Lily watching the finale of Sesame Street Live:
Unfortunately also this month you were pretty sick. You had a stomach virus for a week at the beginning of the month. You threw up most days that week. :( We got in a lot of extra cuddle time in though, and it was nothing serious.
Well, since I'm writing this halfway through your 19th month, I can say that you're learning just as fast as you did the last few months! I can't wait to see what the next two weeks hold! I'm truly amazed at how fast you are learning, and picking up new things! We are so so proud of you Lily! Keep learning, but don't grow up to fast! We love you!
Love,
Mommy

Proud Mommy Moment
Sorry it's been such a long time since I've updated! I just don't get on that computer hardly at all anymore! I know I have a lot of updating to do, and a lot of pictures to share! But I just wanted to record right away an exciting moment that just happened. (Exciting to me at least!) Lily and I were relaxing together watching a kids TV show (she's been really sick this last week, so she's been spoiled with a lot more PBS Sprout than normal) and on the show they started singing the ABC song...and Lily started singing along with them! She got ABC, and then P! She's never sang along with the ABC's before, so it was exciting for me to see her know where some of the letters go. I sang it with her a few times after she did this, and she was able to also get G, I, L, S, T, and V! So proud of her already learning her ABC's! She's also been learning to count lately....if you count with her, she'll say 2, 3, 5, and 8 without prompting. And she'll also repeat all the other numbers! I need to still write up her 19 month blog, so I can share how much she loves singing lately!
As for her being sick, she's getting over Roseola right now. She had a really high fever for about 4 days, and then a rash developed on her stomach and back at the end of the forth day, after her fever had finally broke. Her fever is still down, but she's also still really run down and clingy. She's also developed a cough, and is constipated from all the apple sauce she's been eating. Poor baby! We're all read for her to feel better!
