The Big E
On Sunday we went to the Big E! After being stuck in traffic for the faire for over an hour and a half...it was great to finally get there and start exploring! Our first stop...Vermont building naturally!!
Lily enjoying a slice of Vermont's own American Flatbread pizza (and Ella looking on, desperately wanting a taste!)

It was nice be "be home" for a little while!

We also got Lily some maple cotton candy! Ella again was desperate to get a taste....and this time she did! I kept catching her with little bits of cotton candy in her hand!

After Vermont (and a cider doughnut and a long trail!) we explored Maine's state building, and split a lobster roll. Then, being overly stuffed at that point, we headed over to the kiddie ride area to let Lily ride some rides.
She had a blast on the swings:

And of course loved the kiddie coaster (She will be a coaster junkie...I'll make sure of it!)

And the spinning dragons ride with Mommy:

And of course we can't go to a faire without riding the carousel!

She also rode a kiddie train, and Daddy checked out the spook house. We then walked around some again, and stopped to watch some horses get cleaned, and then headed back to the state buildings to check out VT again (another long trail to split and sugar on snow!!!) and then walked through MA, and RI (were we got a stuffed quahog...YUM!) And then stopped to watch the parade! THe girls all loved it when confettie was sprayed at the croud! The girls of course tried to eat it!
Speaking of the girls, they had a fun day of people watching from the stroller! (I feel so horrible on these outings we do now...we need to be hands free for Lily...so the poor girls end up staying in their stroller the whole time...where as when it was just Lily, we would always have her out to look at things! I've got some serious Mama guilt over this dilemma! I do try to get them out as much as possible! ) Violet had a good time entertaining herself by singing though...and was showing off her new teeth! (She got 3 in the month of September! She flew right past her sister in the teeth department!)
Singing while Lily was riding the carousel:

Being goofy and showing off those teeth while watching the big horses get cleaned. Notice her top tooth in this one!

Ella contemplating being in VT (or maybe she was trying to figure out why Violet was strapped to me, and not her!):

Being goofy while Lily rode rides! I love her crooked grin!

After the parade was finished we headed back to the ride area so Lily could ride one last ride. She chose to do the swings again! Clearly she had a fun time on them!

Our visit to the Big E was short, but fun! I don't know that we will go back every year (it was SO crowded!) but I'm sure we will be back someday....after all, Sean never got his deep fried oreo's that he was so longing for (Gag me! This Mommy is very thankful we never did find that stand! Haha!)

First Apple Picking of the Year
Over the weekend we went apple picking for the first time this year! (I say first time because we have plans to go at least once more!!) This time we chose to go to Lyman's orchard! We got there pretty late, so we were rushed through picking, but we still had a fun time. We brought home 2 bags full of empire and crispin' apple! Both are delicious!
Lily showing off an empire apple she picked:
This apple was tricky, Lily kept pulling and twisting it, but it wouldn't come off! She kept saying "This one is tricky!".
Lily loves apple picking!
While at Lyman's, we stopped by their store, and checkout out the pumpkins they had for sale. Lily had a lot of fun walking through the pumpkins, looking for one to take home! She even sat nicely for me for a few photo's!
This is the little pumpkin she chose!
...but we ended up with this one instead! It reminds me of Cinderella's carriage!
We love this time of year and all the fun activities fall has to offer! I know we have our calender filled already with all the fun activities of the season! I hope I can keep up with them all on the blog! This short trip to the orchard was a great start to fall!

Adventures With Oobleck!
Today I decided it was about time Ella and Violet had their first experience with our gack! Lily was also excited for the day's activity! Lily dove right in to the bucket I set up for her, and the girls came right in too, and gave it a try!
Violet didn't seem too sure at first:
And Ella just wanted to dump the container!
But then Violet got the hang of it and started exploring:
And gave it a taste (it's safe!)
I'm sure it doesn't taste to good!!
She really started to have fun with it though!!
Of course Lily was just playing along...not playing attention to us:
Ella finally gave it a try:
And a taste:
She had some fun with it!
Not sure what Ella was doing here. Looking at it from a different angle? Playing Peek a boo?
Watching her sister play:
Violet loved it the most! She had so much fun picking at it and making a mess!
And tasting it again:
Clearly this is a winning activity with her!
And the best part of gack...it cleans up in minutes! Once I let it dry, I wa able to just sweep it right up from the floor quickly! You wouldn't have even know there was a huge mess just minutes before! I love this stuff!
I have one last picture from this morning. Lily came up to me like this:
She was pretending to be Mr. Potato Head! Haha!
