As you could imagine, from my last post, we had a pretty uneventful 4th of July weekend. Lily was still sick with a fever for the majority of the weekend, but luckily she had pockets of time where her fever was down, so we could get out! We actually had a pretty large window of time on the 4th where she was feeling more like herself. We spent part of that time outside in our yard playing croquet. Lily had so much fun with this new game! She tried hitting the balls a few time, but wasn't quite sure what to do with her stick!
By far she had the most fun putting everything away when she was done playing. She started singing the clean up song from Little Gym spontaneously and stated putting away the balls! "It's time to put the balls away!"
After she was finished cleaning up, she decided she wanted to give her pony a bath! We got out her little tub, filled it with some water, and let her get soaked! We thought she wanted to clean her pony, which she did at first...
...but soon she discovered it was a lot more fun to clean herself!
She started cleaning everything after that. She wanted to clean my foot, my shoe, and the drive way! Haha!
After getting her and her clothes dry, we headed down to Litchfield to check out their 4th of July festivities. They had a pet parade, which was a lot of fun! We saw a lot of different kinds of dogs, a couple bunnies, a cat, a pony, a few chicken, and even a flock of pigeons! Unfortunately Lily was starting to crash at this point, so she didn't enjoy it as much as I'm sure she would have. We went home shortly after the parade, and Lily took the longest nap, that we had to wake her up from! Then she was only awake for another hour before going to bed for the night! Guess it was a good thing we took the weekend easy, though I'm sad we missed out on seeing family and fireworks!
She seems to be better today by the way. She's was a little fussy after her nap, but was ok after a while. Crossing our fingers that this was the last illness we will see for a while!
