For the Love of the Game

Sunday afternoon, Sean, Lily and I went to the Red Sox game. It was suppose to be the last game of the season against the Yankees. They ended up canceling Saturday's game though, so they replayed that game after ours on Sunday. It looked like our game would be cancelled due to rain too! It rained all morning on our drive up, but the skies cleared for a bit once we got to the park, which gave us hope. We got into the park and enjoyed the ambiance while we watched Daisuke Matuzaka and the rest of the team warm up.

Lily and I with Wally: The tarp being pulled off the field right after we got to our seats! HOORAY!

Matuzaka Warming up:

We were SO excited to see Matuzaka warming up, because we had read that Wakefield would be pitching, and if you know us, you know how much Sean and I can't stand Wakefield!

Jason Varitek Warming up:
Lily needed to warm up too for a day of cheering!

It was Pesky day at the park, and before the game started they held a ceremony to retire Johnny Pesky's number, #6. He's there in the middle:
Unfortunately during the ceremony the skies opened up again, and we were in a rain delay. We hung out under the shelter where all the food is for a good hour.

Sean taking Lily to a drier area:
Hanging out with Mommy, waiting for the rain to stop:

Lucky for us, the sky cleared up again! The game was on! Unfortunately it was a pretty boring game...Lily actually slept through the WHOLE game!
Here are a few pictures from the game.

Dustin Perdroia making a dash for first base. To bad he got selfish and tried to make it a double...he got tagged out :(

Matuzaka Pitching:

Hideki Okajima warming up in the bull pen:

Jonathan Papelbon warming up in the bull pen:
8th inning, Yankees taking their time making a pitching change. They changed their pitcher many time during the 8th inning.

Unfortunately the sky opened up again while the Yankees were making the 8th inning take forever. This is when Lily woke up, and our rally started!
Fenway in the rain:

We ended up leaving in the middle of the 9th because it started to rain pretty heavily. We didn't want to keep Lily in the rain, and we were losing anyway. We heard later on the ride home that we had lost 6-2. Oh well...you can't win them all. I guess Lily isn't the Red Sox lucky charm after all! They did go on to win the following game that night though...too bad we didn't have tickets to see that! Go figure, that was the game Wakefield ended up pitching!

Even though it rained, and the game was pretty sad, we still had a great time! We feel like true Red Sox fans for sticking it out in the rain as long as we could during a losing game to the Yankees. A fun experience no matter the outcome!

Finger Painting

Today I set Lily up with finger paint pudding. (Just regular vanilla pudding which I added food coloring too) and let her go wild. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Needless to say, we both had a blast!

Getting Started:
Taking a little taste:
Digging her hands in:
Of course soon the "paint" was knocked over, and Lily had fun pushing the bowls around the deck:Then the neighbors doing yard work become more interesting:
Clean up time!

Quick 13 month Video

This just happening in our hall way. I set Lily with her baby tub with a little water and toys. Of course she had dumped the water out of it within minutes, but I wasn't expecting her to climb in herself! I thought it was funny and cute, and it's been a while since I've shared video. Enjoy! And don't forget to scroll down to see her 13 month photo shoot!

13 Months Old

Dear Lily,
Today you are 13 months old! You have officially become a toddler this month! Your are acting the part too. You have a lot more fits now when things don't go your way. If we take a toy away, you will scream in a really high pitch and go all stiff. Same thing if I pick you up when you want to be down, or put you down when you want to be up! You are just very strong willed! It's definitely a new experience for us as parents, but we know it's your way of expressing you emotions and desires, so Daddy and I try not to stress about your tantrums.

You've started doing a lot of other really cute things this month. You love to say "Hi" to everyone you meet. In the grocery store, at the resturant, you say hi to everyone! You even pick up the phone now, put it to your ear, and say "Hi". This has become a big game to you. Last weekend we took you to your first movie (you've been to the movies before, but this was the first movie we went to FOR you.) We saw "Igor". Unfortunately you weren't really into the movie, so Daddy took you out into the hall to play, and you said hi to every person that walked by! You also went up to every movie poster on the wall and said hi to your reflection in each one! You've become so social!

Speaking of being social, you are much more interactive with your friend Kyan now. The two of you like to dig through his toy box together. Unfortunately this is where you show the adults just how much of a toddler you are. Both you and Kyan get very upset when a favorite toy gets snatched out of your hands by the other. You also both suddenly seem very interested in what ever toy the other is playing with, and must have it! We know you'll both figure out the whole sharing thing some time! We're working on it!

Another really cute thing your recently started doing is spinning around in a circle. We will look over at you, and see you spinning around and around. It's SO cute!

We are so proud of how much you are learning, and how fast you are growing! Daddy and I love you so much! Keep up the good work baby girl!

Love,
Mommy

Here are the 13 month pictures:
These two are from a couple days ago. She was just so cute in her Daddy's hat that I had to get some pics! Of course, we're already getting ready for Halloween over here, thus the Halloween shirt.
From yesterday, playing in the front yard with Daddy and I:
And today, her 13 month photo shoot. Enjoy!

One more thing, update on the birthday party. Sean and I have decided to cancel the party because of a few thing. Some of you may know we are currently house hunting. Well we have had our bid accepted on a house, and are now going through that process. There were also several people who couldn't come, so with the combo of those two, we decided the timing just wasn't right for a party now. We're thinking maybe we'll have a house warming sometime in the spring once we've gotten all settled. That can be Lily centric since she isn't really getting a party. Keep your fingers crossed for us that things go smoothing with buying our first home!

Happy first day of Fall as well!

Happy Birthday Granny!

Today is my mom's birthday, so I wanted to do a special post to thank her for all the support she has shown us over this past year.

Thank you for always giving good advice, for staying with us during Lily's first week, and for all the love you shower Lily with! We all love you here, and are wishing you a Happy Birthday! In honor of your Birthday I have a couple pictures from Lily eating dinner last night. I know how much you love all the messy food shots!

Lily had her first PB&J last week, and she loves it! (Really it's sunflower seed butter, because she can't have peanuts yet.) Last night I wanted to see what she would do if I gave her the whole half sandwich. What resulted was a huge mess, and lots of fun! She loves being in control of feeding herself!

The mess we were left to clean up at the end of dinner:
I ended up just putting her straight in the bath...shirt and all. While she played in the water, I sat next to her working on cleaning the jelly stains off with a tide pen! It surprisingly all came out by the way!

Happy Birthday Mommy/ Granny!!

New Lens and Big E

Sorry it's been a while since I updated. Our internet has been down for a few days! Within that time I got my new camera lens, and we went to the Big E! First I'll show off some of the pictures I got on the day my new lens came. It creates some great blur, and opens up a wider aperture than the kit lens did, which it great. But it's hard to get pictures of large areas. Anyway, here are the pictures! Sorry for the overload!

I took a whole bunch of pictures like this. This one is my favorite because she got up on her tip toes...is ballet in her future?

She was really excited to show me this little stick she had found on the deck! Of course after she had shown it to me, it went straight towards the mouth! Silly goose, always keeping Mommy on her toes! I love that only the hand is in focus with this one!

We had a great time at the Big E yesterday with Jon Becky and Kyan! It was Lily's. Kyan's and my first trip to the Big E (unless I went when I was little, and don't remember. ) We ate lots of stuff that was bad for us, sampling everything that looked good. We ate maple candy, cider doughnuts, stuffed quahog clams, fried dough, fries, cotton candy, candy apples, American Flatbread pizza (local Vermont pizza place...check it out if you are ever in Burlington!), and the creme de la creme...fried oreos! (Though to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of them...to sweet for me...but Sean, Becky and Jon all loved them!) We saw lots of fun things too. We checked out all the State buildings (interesting fact we found out from Jon, each state's building is considered as actually territory of that state. So we were actually in Vermont yesterday! Nice to be "home" for just a little bit yesterday.). We also checked out the farm tent, walked through the petting zoo, and Sean and I road the Haunted Mansion ride (cheesiest thing ever! I think half of the spooks in it were broken! It was fun though!). It was a fun long day! Here are a few of the pictures. Unfortunately I forgot to switch my lens to the kit lens, so I didn't get any really great shots. Oh well!

Picture Thursday

I realize it's been a few days since I posted anything, so I thought I'd share some pictures from today! They aren't the greatest, but still cute! The above picture is from a few days ago. Orion snuggled up to Lily before she woke up for the day! He's really starting to warm up to her more!

The last 3 are from today. We went outside to play with her ball.

Of course the ball lost her interest, so she stole my glasses, like always! This picture you can see how good she is getting at running!

Lily is doing great. She is becoming more and more like a toddler every day. She showed me her first toddler temper tantrum on Tuesday. She wasn't having the best of days (it was a week after she got her MMR shot, from what I've heard it's a week after those shots when most kids get fussy and can run a fever from it.) She stretched out on the floor, kicked her legs and screamed over little things that day. A little peak into the future for me I guess. She's had a couple more tantrums since then, and has been really clingy lately. Maybe it's the shots, maybe it's teeth, or maybe she's just growing up. Who knows! She has been giving us more cuddles lately too, which I love!

I hope everyone had a good week! I've just ordered a new lens for my camera, so Ionce I get it I should have a bunch new photos while I get use to it!
