Yesterday we took a trip down to Mystic to go to the aquarium. It's been almost a year since we had been, so we were excited to see if Lily would get anything new out of the experience!
Our first stop, like every time we go to the aquarium was to see the Beluga whales. This was clearly Lily's favorite exhibit. She stood for a very long time at the glass watching the whale swim by her. She kept turning around each time the whale went by to say "Mom it's a WHALE!" Then she wanted to check out each viewing area for the whales, including the little viewing holes. She really loved watching them!
Next we checked out the sea lions and seals, then it was onto the penguins. She expressed a lot of excitement about going to see the penguins, but seemed very underwhelmed by the time we got over to them. She wasn't able to get a good look at them though, so maybe that was why she didn't seem interested once we were there.
After that we headed inside where we let Lily lead the way. she enjoyed running from display to display checking out all the different fish. She made a couple new friends at the big center tank. Her and a set of brothers, one right around her age, stood and watched the fish swim by, and each other, for a long while. She also was really interested in the large set of shark teeth they have on display. She kept running back to this and saying "teeth!" We were sad to see that one of our favorite exhibits has been removed, the bat cave. They are taking it down and have replaced it with a dig your own fossils activity that you have to pay extra. We weren't to pleased to see that. We liked watching the bats fly around! Everything else was pretty much the same as it always has been though. There were new turtles out though, which was neat to see!

In all we had a very fun day! I love that Lily loves animals and sea life!
