Happy Halloween!!

The big day is finally here!! After weeks of Halloween and fall activities, it's time for the big event! Trick-Or-Treat!!!

Our Halloween this year, the girls first Halloween got off to a rocky start. Violet decided the night before to not go to sleep....until 4am!!!! Talk about walking dead Halloween morning! Good thing we hadn't planned anything for Halloween day, after our completely over packed Halloween eve. We just took the morning slowly, slept in, took naps, and just plain relaxed. Around lunch we went out to eat at one of our favorite places, J Timothy's! Since it was Halloween, I let Lily pick out a princess dress from her dress-up box to wear for the day, before getting into her real costume! She loved dressing up as a princess, and getting special attention!

And since she was dressed up, I had to put the girls in something special, but since they were suppose to be napping (Miss Violet...I'm talking to you!!! You were in desperate need of a nap after not sleeping all night!) I put them in their animal PJ's! Ella dressed as a giraffe,

and Violet like a cow!

As you can see, while it was Violet who needed the nap, it was Ella who slept through our meal! Violet sat happily at the table with us munching on our food! We had a wonderful Halloween lunch (Sean had the lump crab sandwich, and I had BBQ pulled pork sliders, and we split a soft pretzel with this wonderful cheddar ale soup, and a pumpkin cocktail! Everything was SO yummy!)

And Lily entertained us with her drawings:

After our wonderful lunch, we went home to relax some more, and I got started on our dinner...butternut squash and sage Mac and Cheese! My favorite fall comfort food! I've been saving it this year special for Halloween night!

While that was cooking, I got everyone dressed for a few costumed photo's. Not happy at all with these, but the light was running out. Boo.

Cutie Ella the giraffe...with the costume that bothered her head the whole time. (Side note, remind me next year to buy their costumes in person, so I can see the quality before buying. Boo to In Character costumes for their horrible fit!)

Roar, Violet the Lion!

Last minute Lily decided to change up her Angelina Ballerina costume and went as Cinderella instead. I got to admit I was a little sad she didn't stick to the costume we had pieced together for her, but she made an adorable Cinderella! Special thanks goes to my Aunt Eileen for giving her the dress for Christmas last year! Came in handy to already have that in the dress up box! And I already had the shoes from Christmas last year too!

Before we left I gave Lily a treat and let her put on a little make-up for the first time! A little blush, blue eye shadow, pink lip gloss and glitter gel! She loved getting pampered like a big girl!

After some pictures we hopped into the car and headed to Grampa's house where we were going to start out trick-or-treating ( Grampa generously let us use his house as home base this Halloween, since we don't have a neighborhood to walk around in at our house, and we needed to be close to a toilet with Lily being potty trained for only a few months!)

We grabbed a few more group pictures in the yard with the little light we had left:

Violet was waving at us...so cute with that little paw!

Jungle Daddy with his little animal friends!

Then we were finally off Trick-Or-Treating!! This was the moment Lily has been waiting for since...well, last Halloween to be honest! :)

She got scared of this house, with the spooky decorations. Daddy had to go up the steps with her!

It was also that house when the whole night started to dissolve. Lily's feet were hurting, she was getting tired, and the girls were hungry. So we packed it in early unfortunately. Sean and I were sad to call it a night, but we knew it was the right decision when we got to the car and Lily fell asleep almost instantly, and slept through the night! So while our time trick or treating was shorter than we had anticipated, we still all had a really fun time! Lily remembered to say thank you every time this year, but still had to be reminded to say trick or treat. Maybe next year she'll remember it all! Little reminder for next year...make sure all the girls take a nap several hours before going out!

Little Gym Halloween Party

On of our new favorite Halloween traditions is to go to the Little Gym Halloween party!! It's always a fun time getting to see everyone in costume playing! This year we went to 2 of the parties! We went to the first party, which was for the younger kids, so Violet and Ella could get down and play in the gym for the first time! Then we went to the second party, for kids Lily's age, so she had some of her friends to play with!

The girls had so much fun exploring! We had to let Lily just wander herself, because Ella and Violet were both taking off in either direction, splitting Sean and I up. Lily found her own fun though playing with the teachers and her friend Emma who was also at this party! The girls loved the gym though! I can't wait to play with them every week at the gym!

They loved playing with the shakers! Ella was all smiles and laughing when we were playing with those!

Lily made a new friend!

Getting a ride on the parachute:

Lily was a big show off because she was one of the oldest kids there! She showed Mr. Jake that she could walk on the beam without anyone holding her hand! Miss. Lori was so proud to see how she has grown!

Violet checked out the low bars while Ella tried to escape!

Ella checking out the bars, trying to copy big sister Lily:

Violet was a hoot this whole party! We've discovered that she has a "thing" for males. She just seems to be drawn to them. And this party was no exception! She spent a lot of it crawling into random mens laps, hanging out for a bit with them, then crawling off to find a new lap to sit in! She only does this with men though. Very strange girl!

Ella was showing off her brand brand new steps all party! She kept getting up, and taking 2-3 steps, then falling! All of the teacher at the gym, who have been watching the girls grow up this year, were amazed and excited for her!

Ella actually threw this ball! She's gotten really good at throwing already!

Meanwhile, Lily was playing catch with Mr. Jake!

The girls found Mr. Brad on the floor, and made themselves at home! Violet spent most of the rest of the party in his lap!

Though she also checked out Mr. Jake's lap too!

Ella thinking about climbing the stairs:

Violet, our climber, racing up the stairs, showing her sister how it's done:

Lily showed the girls the big cheese and doughnut hole:

Dancing with Daddy:

Ella showing off her steps to Miss. Tanya:

Violet dancing with Mr. Brad! She made his day I think!

Onto party #2!

Isaiah Jumping!
Daddy was Lily's ear keeper! This party got a little wild with all the kids running around (and it didn't help that Mr. Jake started a huge chase around the gum!) so we kept the girls at arms reach for this party, so safety!

Isaiah, Lily and Charlotte, getting ready to jump:

Lily started "helping" her friends off the block! "Here, let me Help you Charlotte!" :

Big jump Lily!!! (Notice she's jumping with her feet together, and she lands on her feet! Very exciting!!):

Ring around the rosie with Miss. Erin (Who Lily now calls Miss. Tinkerbell ever since this party!)

Basket hangs with Miss. Tanya:

Doing a flip on the bar with Miss. Lori's help (Have I mentioned we miss her terribly yet?!?!?)

Getting Stampers from Mr. Jake:

The parties were a big hit with all the girls! It was get for Lily to just get some free play in the gym again, and for the girls to explore it for the first time! I can not wait for next semester, when it will be their turn to start classes!! I know they will have a blast after seeing them at this party!
