Halloween Blast From The Past

This morning I ordered the girls Halloween costumes! Being younger siblings, I know they will grow up in hand me downs a lot. I made the promise to myself though that for big events they will get new outfits always! That means no reusing Christmas, birthday, and Easter dresses, and most importantly, no reusing Halloween costumes! That doesn't mean I can't dress them up in old costumes just for fun though!! That's exactly what we did this morning! Lily's old costumes were just too cute to let the opportunity to wear them one last time pass us by!

Ella got to try on Lily's skunk costume that she wore for her second Halloween at 14 months old:

For comparison, here's Lily in 2008 as a skunk:

(That picture still makes me smile every time! I LOVE this costume!)

Violet got to try on Lily's first Halloween costume, the frog costume!

I'm amazed she was able to get into it at all! That thing is a size 0-3 months! It was very short in the legs and arms...but fit fine everywhere else...skinny minnie!

And for comparison, here is Lily at 2 months on her very first Halloween!

I think the girls make a very cute Froggy and Skunk! Just as cute as Lily was!

Here is the rest of the dress up fun we had this morning:

Love this picture:

Lily got in on the dress up fun and tried on the cow costume that we bought a few years ago, but never used for anything! (Tore the tags off of it finally this morning! Thank god we got it on an after Halloween sale for $2.50! ) It really didn't fit her at all...being that it is an 18 months size! She had fun in it though!

Violet's getting daring with letting go of things! She's stood by herself for a few seconds before!

Ella was laughing at Lily, who was jumping over the tree (that feel a couple weeks ago in a wind storm!)

She's gotten really good at standing by herself! She even stood up in the middle of the room this morning without pushing up on anything for the first time!!

My 3 favorite animals!

Later Lily tried on the skunk costume too! I can't believe this thing still fits her 2 years later! I think I'll be sticking it in her dress-up box! She's still adorable in it!

(She also tried on the frog costume...but that really didn't fit her! She was able to zip it up...but it was more like shorts and a short sleeve shirt on her...and she couldn't get the head piece over her head! She had fun trying it on though!)

So there you go...fun to see these costumes used again! I love the skunk costume so much...I don't think any costume we ever put them in will be as cute as that one! I'm very temped to put Ella in it at least for one event this Halloween, since we'll be going to so many! As for what they are actually going to be this year....well you'll just have to wait and see! :)
